Antigua is part of the Leeward Island Group, aptly named after the easterly winds that prevail in the region. Antigua is an enchanting tropical with immaculate sandy beaches, clear blue waters and luxurious resorts, not to mention world-class restaurants and celebrated sporting events, all of which make it an attraction for the rich and famous.

Its location north of Barbados and east of the Virgin Islands makes Antigua the perfect place to start exploring the amazing Leeward Islands. Antigua’s breath-taking landscapes, unique and vibrant island culture, quaint port towns and fishing villages, scores of beautiful beaches and the unbroken coral reef wall that provides protection make it a perfect destination for every kind of traveler.

St. John's

Being the largest, wealthiest and most prominent of the Leeward Island Group, Antigua’s capital city, St. John’s has a lively social scene. The city boasts a number of first-class restaurants that serve delicious island cuisine and plenty of nightclubs that cater to a diverse set of visitors.

Other prominent towns of Antigua are Liberta, called “The Village of Liberty” for being the initial settlement of freed slaves and All Saints, where you can visit the remnants of a 350 year-old sugar cane plantation.

English Harbour

The reminders of Antigua’s rich history of seafaring is to be found all over the island. English Harbour, lying in the south eastern part of the island is a perfect example. A Royal Navy harbour and base dating back to the 18th Century gives the town its name. Here, you will find Nelson’s Dockyard, completely restored to its condition in the colonial period, when it was under the command of the famous Admiral Horatio Nelson.

Antigua Sailing Week is a world-class regatta that is organized each year between the end of April and attracts world-famous boats and sailors.

Antigua’s geography, climate and natural beauty make it one of the most prized locations for superyacht charter. Each year in the month of December, the island hosts one of the most important charter events of the industry, unveiling a fleet of the newest and most luxurious superyachts in the world set in the perfect venue of Nelson’s Dockyard Marina, Falmouth Harbour and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina.
